This quilt is for the daughter of a friend. I made a quilt for her son when he was born. This little girl was born only a month after our daughter and since it took me almost a year to finish the our baby quilt, I hadn’t made one for her.
A first birthday seemed like a good time to make her a quilt. I had the main fabric from a charm pack I won a few years ago that was waiting for just the right project. I had off-white solid left over from my sister’s quilt. And thankfully I was able to find some border & backing fabric with a similar enough color scheme. It measures 39 x 55.
I machine-quilted diagonal lines through the whole quilt. It’s not perfect, but it works. I still prefer hand-quilting but sometimes there aren’t enough hours or weeks.
It’s nice and soft after a trip through the wash.
I think she’ll have fun finding all the different pictures in these prints. Hopefully it will be a favorite!
