Frost & Garden

Last week brought a hard cystaline frost followed by the morning sun.  Even though the temperatures were chilly, I went out before breakfast to capture the light and crystal.  It also serves as a record of what’s left in the garden.

Support post left in the grass.

Later in the day, the view of the garden.  Swiss Chard, lettuce, mustard greens, kale, carrots are all under the hoop frame and row cover.  The cold frame is behind the hoop frame this year.  We still need to replace the glass on one window.  The rate at which they’re breaking is making us consider plexiglass for this one.  Garlic  & shallots are planted under the straw.
