Sunrise Hike

Today was our first hard frost, with temps down in the 20s this morning. I don’t have any pretty frost pictures from the garden, but I do have these from the top of Mt. Cardigan.

We rose at 3:30 to meet some friends and drive to Mt. Cardigan to hike it in time to to view the sunrise. It was a nice hike up in the dark.
We saw the crescent moon & Venus as the color began to creep into the sky.

Then we bundled up on the bare top to wait for the sun to rise.

The sun!

On our way back down in the morning light.

The sun was just showing over the peak.

After breakfast at a diner and a nap, we did do some garden clean up.

AHHH! I knew the moment I saw it! You are in NH! I am from there. I actually lived on one of those dirt roads half way up Cardigan. I have climbed it a few times myself. The first time was a class trip. Though I have never gone that early, lol. but I can see the reasoning. It is a long hot trip if it isn’t cool out. I keep going back to your pictures. My God do I miss it! Thanks!

Wow! What a beautiful day you had for that. We are just home from OC and haven’t seen Sarah yet so don’t know if there was frost here overnight on Friday or Saturday. Daddy’s stretched out snoring in front of the TV. Call us later.
