W.I.P. Wednesday

Another couple of months since my last W.I.P Wednesday. Maybe I should aim to make this a monthly post. Here’s the progress since late August.

Tropical HST Quilt
I finished this quilt in Mid-September and was able to give it to the lucky couple in person. It was great to see the smiles on their faces.

Stained-glass Wall Hanging
This is a gift for a friend, I just need a rod to hang it.

Mad progress
Eleven Year Quilt
I’ve quilted 7 out of 18 squares of this quilt. It’s called the Eleven Year quilt because I started it in the fall of 2001, as my first quilt.

Each square is 16″ and with the detailed hand-quilting I’m doing takes at least 3 hours.

I like how well the quilting shows up on the back.

Batik Granny Squares
I’ve made progress on this quilt a bit lately. I have 44 squares made and think I have decided to use 54 on the quilt top (a 6 by 9 layout).

New Projects
I’ve started quite a few new projects in the last month.
Commissioned Jean Quilt
I’ve been commissioned to make a special jean quilt for someone to give as a Christmas gift. I’ve been busy cutting up the jeans and getting things ready while I wait for some remaining fabric.

Wall Hangingings
This one just needs hand sewing of the binding on the back.

I’m still working on quilting this one.

Chevron Baby Quilt
This quilt began as a use for the left over HST from the Tropical Quilt. I added more variety in blues and greens to make it a gift for friends who are having a boy in December. The quilt top is done, waiting to be basted and quilted.

This month’s stats:
Finished: 2
In Progress: 2
New Projects: 4

I really really like that stained glass wall hanging! Very cool. And the baby quilt with chevrons is nice as well.
    Happy sewing!

  2. Impressive list of projects you’ve got happening! Great work! The jeans remind me that I’ve got some jeans to make into a quilt, too – need to get working on that …
