Garden Dinners

We’ve been enjoying more meals from the garden lately. These recipes are not my own, so I’m linking to the sources.

We made Snowpeas and Shrimp based on Norma’s recipe for Snowpeas & Asparagus. Our shrimp were Maine Shrimp we froze earlier this winter.

Last night we had the last of the Delicata Squash from 2011. They kept very well. However, they are a bit drier and not nearly as sweet as in the fall. Next year we’ll eat them up sooner.
With the squash we enjoyed a massaged kale Salad, based on this recipe. I added radishes, goat cheese, and a dash of balsamic vinegar and left out the onion. I guess the only things I left the same were the kale, oil & strawberries :) We took this to a potluck on Saturday and it all disappeared. We made it again for ourselves this week.

Each Thursday Robin hosts Thursday’s Kitchen Cupboard to share recipes using our garden or pantry foods.

Wow that shrimp and pea dish looks absolutely wonderful! Our sugar snap peas are just about ready to start harvesting I am so looking forward to their return to the menu as they are a favorite. I never grow snow peas (not sure why really?!) but love them too.

The Shrimp dish looks wonderful! I love Norma’s recipes so much that I bought both of her cookbooks for “The Italian”!

I agree, the shrimp and pea dish look wonderful. Our peas are done for this year with only a handful to show for it (as usual) but I may buy some just so we can try this recipe.
