ZigZag Baby Quilt

I was inspired for this baby quilt by a photo I saw of someone’s quilt on Flickr. I liked the zigzags and the texture of the pebble quilting.

I decided to use pink for the background of my quilt and pink, purple & green zigzags. I wanted to try the pebble machine quilting and I wanted it to unify the larger pink stripes, so I quilted it there. My first try was a little small, so I alternated it with a row of larger pebbles. I hand quilted in the colored zigzags so it has a variety of textures.

The quilt measures 30 by 37 and went off in the mail to my cousin and her husband who are having a girl later this spring.

That’s a lovely quilt. I didn’t know what you meant by pebbles until I saw the close up. No view of the back though.
