Striped Quilt

This striped quilt was made for a baby girl of some friends of ours. It came together quickly, in just two weeks. I cut strips of various thicknesses from greens, pinks, purples and gray. I arranged them on my design wall in a way that seemed balanced and then sewed them together.

Then I had fun hand-quilting different designs in each stripe. Some have hearts, others curly qs, some waves, and others straight lines. In one row I quilted her name. I may go over the name with some embroidery to make it stand out more.

The quilt is bound with a Kona Coal Gray. The back is a green and pink floral print.

It just needs a label before I give it to her tomorrow.

That turned out nice. I didn’t see the name in the quilting though. Did they like it?
