Fall Walks

Two weeks ago we took a walk on some local paths.  The color was getting close to peak, or possibly just past.

The maples were aglow with the setting sun.

We enjoyed the view from the top of French’s Ledges.

A week later we walked the same woods with Matt’s brother who was visiting. The bright maple leaves were almost gone. The beach leaves glowed in the cloudy light.

There were still many interesting things to see in the woods.
Indian Pipe,

Maidenhair Ferns silhouetted against the leaves,

Blue beaded lily fruit,

And many types of mushrooms and fungi.

We got a view of the farm that I photographed when skiing this winter.

Before we know it, it will be time to ski on these trails!

Looks like you’ve had a beautiful fall. I didn’t realize that Indian pipes turned brown in the fall. Nice photos.
