Harvest Monday 9/26/11

Though temperatures have been above normal for the past week, the garden is getting less sun and slowing down.
The tomato vines were affected by frost two weeks ago and the green tomatoes were falling off the vines. So I picked all these and will weigh them as they ripen.

I also picked the butternut squash and pulled all the squash and cucumber vines.

Other harvest this week included swiss chard and leeks

tomatillos and peppers

and a variety from the garden.

Total this week: 22 lbs
Total this year: 308.9 lbs

Eggs this week:12
Eggs this year:18

See what other gardeners are harvesting at Daphne’s Dandelions.

Are the eggs from only two hens or are the others laying now?

All those were from Rosemary and Sage. We got two eggs almost every day last week.

Today Parlsey laid her first egg, but that’s not in the above count. So we got 3 eggs today!

Very nice harvest Emily. I think that I should grow some tomatillos next year.

    Congrats on your eggs!
